The country was hitherto lacking dwarf cashew genotypes and for the first time, the Directorate of Cashew Research, Puttur has identified a dwarf cashew variety named Nethra Vaaman. Upon characterisation and evaluation, its slow growth and dwarf character was confirmed.
<b>SUNLIGHT: </b><br> Cashew trees need full sunlight to grow well, so select a location that receives 6-8 hours of sunlight daily<br> <b>FERTILIZER: </b><br>After the first few months, apply NPK (19:19:19) to stimulate root and shoot growth.

<b>WATERING: </b><br> Young Trees: Water regularly during the first 1-2 years of growth, especially during dry periods. This helps establish a strong root system. Water every 2-3 days during dry spells, ensuring the soil remains moist but not waterlogged. <br> <b>FERTILIZER : </b><br> Apply well-decomposed organic manure or compost at the time of planting to provide essential nutrients. NPK (19:19:19) fertilizers can be used during early growth for balanced nutrient supply.
